A complete round of Tongits Go involves drawing, melding, challenging and declaring. Here's how each phase works.
The dealer receives 13 cards; each other player receives 12. One card is placed face-up to start the discard pile. The dealer goes first by discarding one card to reduce to 12.
On your turn, draw from the stock pile (face-down) or pick up the top discard. You must then discard one card to end your turn — keeping your hand at 12 cards throughout play.
Place valid sets (three or more cards of the same rank) or sequences (three or more consecutive cards of the same suit) face-up on the table. Melded cards reduce your hand's point count.
Add cards from your hand to melds already on the table (yours or opponents'). This is a key way to deplete your hand quickly and lower your point total heading into a potential challenge.
Any player can call "Fight" when another player draws from the stock. All players reveal remaining hand cards. The player with the lowest unmelded point total wins the pot. Timing this call is a critical skill.
If you empty your hand completely by melding all cards, declare "Tongits" for an automatic win — regardless of opponents' scores. This is the highest-value win and cannot be challenged once declared.
Lower total unmelded points = better position when a Fight is called. Zero points = Tongits win.
